Bio: Spring is a gender-queering artist/activist/educator. They are currently a provisional member of Groundswell Community, an intentional community that stewards the land the Nonprofit, Groundswell Institute, runs on. Spring is working to establish a viable farm and garden for the community with the hope to eventually create a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) that feeds Queer and Trans communities in the Bay Area. They received their degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Gender and Sexuality at the California Institute of Interdisciplinary Studies (CIIS).
Spring previously curated an art show at CIIS that showcased eight artists. The show focused on unpacking the concept of a Trans* umbrella using performances as a way to discuss the varied and intersecting identities of Trans and Genderqueer peoples. They also co-created with other Trans and Genderqueer folks a conference that equipped teachers and other youth workers with more tools to support trans and genderqueer youth.
